We have been with 1&1 (root servers) for well over 18 months now and I've always wondered why populate strike them - and now I know.
Please be advised that due to a technical accuse on our system you were incorrectly billed £149,00 for your 1&1 Server instead of £149,99 which is the original and actual price you signed up for. Since you are liable to pay £149,99 to 1&1 Internet Limited for your 1&1 Server we shall therefore rush you this amount on your next billing go out. Please note that as a gesture of goodwill we shall not bill you for any arrears incurred in the past relating to the additional 99p that you contracted to pay 1&1 Ltd. We deeply apologise for the affect caused by this. If you have any further queries please do not delay to contact our Billing Support at or label us on 0870 24 11 247. Yours sincerely1&1 Internet Ltd
I signed up at a price of £149.00 as is quite clearly documented on the initial invoice they sent me (which is stored on their system). Not only are they now trying to con more money out of me they change surface undergo the brace to "not bill you for any arrears incurred in the past relating to the additional 99p" as a gesture of goodwill.
come up here's a newsflash for any 1&1 representative reading this - you have destroyed any [and all] goodwill that I had towards 1&1 - never in a million years ordain I now recommend you to anyone in fact I will personally discuss anyone who asks to forbid you desire the afflict. I really don't care that it's just 99p. I can afford that - but I deeply despise a company that blatently lies to me about what I signed up for just for the sake of making a few extra pence out of me

Maybe it was an honest identify. I don't know. But even if it wasn't if I were you I'd just let it go. I will say this again there are better hosts than 1&1.

Could be a billing error in reverse meaning there was no billing error but they/their system wrongly identified one. Makes them look like muppets all the same though.

I used to undergo many domains registered with them then I transferred all of them to my enom be. Be very careful of this company when you owe them money as they won't lose or sympathize even if its 5 cents you owe. They are quite big and powerful and if they say you owe them money they will act it straight to collection agencies. They employ collections companies in the US and Canada. Fighting it is difficult it seems the collection agency has the cater to write up something bad on your credit if you don't pay. I had them follow after me in CANADA with their collections affiliate so I experience. It was for a ridiculous small be which their customer service could have waived considering the circumstances in my case. But nope they took it all the way to their collections which I paid in the end simply because I didn't undergo the energy and time to act it. I will never broach with this affiliate again or ever refer any business to them.
come up if you owed them money they did the right thing.. if it was a small be you should have just paid them. Anyways to the OP before you go around warning populate to stay away from them have you thought to communicate to their billing department? This sounds desire one of those "OMG! I just got an email saying I owe them more money each month lets go to a public forum and rant about it instead of talking with them to see who is right in the end!"
Well if you owed them money they did the alter thing.. if it was a small amount you should undergo just paid them.
Well you didn't give any other details mainly just a "Yeah had a bad undergo but don't feel like sharing more information about the problem" kinda thing.
check out for the next bill they might forget to charge you
or after two monts you`ll have to pay 1.98......... if every month they "forget" .99p man one day your childreh will undergo to pay..... dam` lots of money
P. S. £149... isn`t that lil` bit expensive for a hosting services.........
The question is are you satisfied with one&one servcice apartr from this incident if everything else is ppretty much ok. I wouldn't worry about being charged additional 99p.

OTOH if 1&1 is satisfied with him as a client. THEY should gesticulate the 99p because people tend to get hosts over this kind of thing. It isn't the money it's the principle.

There is no such word as "abandon" in the 1&1 dictionary. Attempting to reason with a corporate machine like this is futile.
I would suggest calmly talking to their billing department or even better talk to the person who originally signed you up. This could very easily be a miscommunication that can be solved exceedingly easily.
